5 Scriptures for HomeSchooling

Top 5 Scriptures for Homeschooling

(there are many, many more, but chew on these awhile.. )

#1  Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (also see Deuteronomy 4:9, 11:18-21)

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

The Lord tells us quite explicitly  to diligently, daily, unceasingly to teach our children God’s commandments and principles ALL of  the time. Can Sunday school really be enough to fulfill this enormous command Public school teaches children to think as non-christians 30 or more hours a week!

# 2 II  Corinthians 10:5

Make every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  One of the things homeschoolers appreciate most is the time they have , this is time that can be used to impress upon our children while they are the most impressionable the enduring truths.  Every though captive to Christ. That’s a tall order. How do Christians whose children are in a Godless system all day fulfill this obligation?

#3   Isaiah 54:13

And all your children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of your children. We are given a promise. Teach them about Me and you will have Peace. What else do we need?

#4   Romans 12:2

Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Don’t public schools conform our children to the world’s way of thinking and values and morals (or lack thereof).

#5  Psalm 1:1-2

Meditate on God’s law day and night. Day and night. Again, a command that His absolute truths must be preeminent on our thoughts, on our tongue, in our work.
